David,
Your a machine! Top work. If your car doesn't win awards when its finished, then the judges should be shot....or maybe not, but frowned upon.

Thanks Rhys, Im not realy aiming to win awards, just to go fast and handle well.
I am pleased with how it is comming up considering it is all done by ME at home. Will just have to wait to see what the finished product ends up like. If a judge takes all that into consideration then i might be in with a shot at an award for something. Effort if nothing else[:I].

More pictures of my strut tops sitting in the car. I have gained a good amount of caster. About 25mm at the mounts.

Hey mate

Good work on your strut tops, I love to see people engineering their own parts. I love doing it and love seeing it. Lots of respect and congrats your way for doing it, and doing it well.

Regards, Tim

I am engerneering all of my stuff out of nacessaty but it does give you that extra sense of achevment and satisfaction when it is finished.[:p] If i could buy off the shelf parts i would, accept for the cost some times, but then it would not be as unique.[:u][:u]
Timmeh. I, like wise, have been very impressed by the pain staking detail that you have but into restoring your car also. Keep it up.

OK, headers all tacked togeather again.[:I] It should be right this time.[:I][:I][:I]
I have managed to keep it all up quite high, At its lowest point it is about 15mm below the bell housing and gearbox crossmember and about 45mm below the chassis rail.
Here are a few pictures.

Both flanges are infact the same, one side has a second flange plate fitted to get the spacing from the crossmember correct..
Oh and i just noticed in the last picture the timber blocks under the wheels[:u]. Its ok, there are stands under the car, the timber is just to hold the wheels up in place

Thanks guys.
Next
1, Final test fit of the sump before getting it welded up.
2, Remove the motor and start its rebuild, wich shouldnt take to long.
3, Get the headers all TIG welded up.
4, Mount the bottom steering coulmn bearing in the fire wall.
5, Make up new peddle box with hydrolic clutch and under dash master cylinder
6, Refit motor, mount alternator, powersteering pump, water pump, radiator, intercooler, fuel lines, all pipeing and wireing loom.
7, Have made up a new tail shaft and modify the tunnel under the rear seat. When i get to this point, then it will be drivable[:p][:p]. so there is still lots left to be done before SFS early next year.

They are not very good. I still have to put in a tie from top Panel to the bottom Panel to suport the bonnet catch. Then i hope to get better pictures.
