nothing to report on the escort. just got back from queensland picking up a speedway car my uncle was restoring. unfortunately he never got to finish it before he passed. so my dad and me will finish it for him. not too sure on the history of it but will do some research.

That's looking excellent

And nice to see a set of compression struts fitted up. How did you work out where to mount the brackets? Got any measurements [?]

cheers mate. i fitted the brackets so at no adjustment the wheel base was standard length.

marty.

really? i had no memory of sending anything in. just checked my old emails. apparently i did back in November 09. must have been half cut because the email didn't make much sense [88]
is that the latest issue available here?

Some people do strange things when juiced up on rocket fuels
Its the current issue with a mk1 Escort (of course) painted in the Gulf livery,( for those not in the know...its the LeMans GT40 colours, light blue c/w orange stripe. Porsche 917 was sponsered by Gulf in 1970 etc) bubble arches & some huge dish wheeeels on the cover!

not too much new to report. i have been busy latley and haven't had a chance to get some more done. i still need to make some seat mounts as i dont like the the seat position when bolted to the standard mounts.
then i need to start with the dash and wiring.

in the mean time i found this. 73 mk1 4 door 1300. auto shell but converted to manual and 1600.
body is straight and only some minor surface rust. interior is fairly good too. over all a solid shell and a good base start for a nice streeter (once i finish the mk2)

got it on Monday and have only given it a polish so far but it came up good.

ive always wanted a mk1 and im pretty happy with it for the price i paid.

only a small update.
things had slowed up alot on the mk2. i moved to nightshift at my work in december and didn't really have time or motivation to do anything.
it really took it out of me......but anyway im back on days now and am feeling alot more awake

so i got some seat mounts. where it is in the above pic is way too high and across for my liking. should be fitting soon. also grabbed some boot springs

cheers
