My kits got a main cap bolt with a welded cap screw, spacer and washer and nut. Freaking Geezers, Good on em and all but fark! You didn't get it? I'm not sold with the sump I will likely develop my own. Heres pics of what I got at least.
Looks like windage trays only on the Silver top 2 ltr, Can confirm not in the 1.8 or ST Variant blacktops.






Very little need for windage tray given the RF is pretty close to the rotating parts, with run off to a large capacity???? sump, The Standard Girdle doesn't sit real close either.

Whooaah look at those spacers!! I would've cut the tab and extended it to fit properly, dont like excess bolts used as a gap fill in the crank case, something might rattle loose
I made my own pickup pipe by grafting a pinto pickup pipe with the correct bends which fits inside the Zetec tube then welded in place!

I tend to agree the spacer doesn't look great does it (And since it wasn't supplied); would anyone forsee problems with replacing the bracket with a longer version to be held in place by the main cap bolt?? Or is that asking for trouble...no damping for vibrations, fatigue etc etc

So now i've got the sump all sorted and have taken delivery of a Retroford water-rail; a couple of questions have come up.

When plumbing it in it's clear where the water take-off for the heater matrix/warm-up circuit is but where should the return line run to? Should i drill and tap a hosetail into the waterpump inlet or is there a better spot.

Am i correct in thinking the water rail is effectively the hot water return to the rad and the water pump inlet is effectively cool water into the block?

Nice radiator, is that an of the shelf item for a different car or a custom jobby

radiator is standard cortina with bottom outlet moved, just used the local radiator guy.

The engine mounts I made, the sump is retro ford and they are sh!t, no capcity on the cortina and not much better for the escort. On this job I used oilstat and oil cooler to up the capcity.

I think I have 1 starter left that is direct bolt up. I'll have a look.

I have a standard Zetec Alternator that has been modified to be usd with out the standard ECU if anyone wnats to buy that to use with the standard mounting....
