Not sure there is much wrong with that rad/intercooler either. My escort when it was turbo'd had a similar setup.

One thing that is absolutely necessary is to shroud the fan/radiator so it has no choice but to pull air through the radiator and duct/seal from the front so air cannot go around the rad/cooler.

I think his main concern was airflow betweeen the rad/intercooler because the rad core wont sit hard up or close to the intercooler, it will be a about 15-20mm back because of the design of the radiator. He said if the core was the same depth as the tanks it would be ok and I think he just doesnt like my cooler because its 2nd hand and been chopped.

What is the ideal gap between ic and rad or is hard up best?

Not sure the gap means much - as long as you close the sides so air has no choice.

Maybe it means a lot to a big budget race team.

Still progressing slowly had a few ideas on changing the car but they are on hold till I get the autopsy back on my engine..

Fuel system has been made a bit neater, unfortunately may have to change some of this thanks to me not asking enough questions about E85[8~2]

Then I had a bad feeling when I saw this[xx(]

I know its a poo poo pic but that is rust on the back of my exhaust valve on my Rebuilt engine can you imagine the mood I was in?

Oh no this is not good, was meant to go the sparkys then for setup I wont be driving it this year
