well, after realising the car isnt gonna be on the road for another year, i decided i may aswell let it sit and be abit more of a project becuase of the following :

the sump gasket is leaking hardcore,

the clutch sometimes gets a judder,

and i would like to put performance parts in the block aswell.

i want this thing to a be a freaken weapon

crank out, oil pick up pipe, all bottem end and main bearings, water pump, oil filter, mounts, timing gears (3), tensioner off, intake and exhaust off,

intake was warped slightly so i sanded 150grit to remove it. same with thermostat housing.

heads coming off 2moro aswell as pistons coming out!

it looks as though you have a cortina alternator bracket on the block.. did you find it rubbed on your bottom hose and did it damage the hose at all.. just because that's what i got atm. the escort one has bushes and mounts in a slightly lower place , or it maybe cause i'm using a sigma radiator the hose is in a different place i'm not sure

no marks of rubbing at all. sorry for the late reply.

well just a bit more of a review about the paint quality n brand, KILLRUST TOPCOAT, looks good (other than the final coat which had peel) but if u look at pics of the 2nd, 3rd or 4th coats had a nice texture, the actual quality was not good, the paint started fading colour in different places, and it was getting scratched sooo easily......

so yeah almost all of the black paint and the stripes are getting sanded back and im gonna put the car in primer for a while, then when money and or time allows again im gonna repaint her, ive decided on a dark shiny blue, with side skirt stripe and stripes the same way across the top like they used to be.

it will look awesome!!

block came back from my mates joint he cleaned out galleries and such and honed the cylinders for me, ill have to get the measurements off him, but he told me there pretty good and not out of round. ill have to see the measurements and decide for myself tho.

this motor should be very entertaining. and with falcon 34/34 should be nice too!

AND: if any1 didn't read the other post, heres my front end :D

cheers

yes i am, im putting the same stripe back on the new paint aswell as a stripe across the lower side.

yeah my dad got it assemlbed a few years ago, really is awesome, its bigger than our house lol.

while on the stripes what's ur (and anyone else's) opinion? should i do parrelel stripes on the other side? two normal stripes? i think the style of stripes i did is neat but im open to ideas

You should build yourself a bachelor pad, look after the shed for the old man with constant party supervision.
I like the stripes you have now.
Just with some red pin strips along the Silver. i will share what i have drawn up along the same theme.
Good luck with it.
