ahh the spongey pedal is causing me more headaches than i thought it would..

may need a new master.. found rear cylinders both leaking, hopefully that will de-sponge things a bit lol.

might have to relax with this speed bump.

well a mate from work came around today, and had a look at the escort with me, sanded till our shoulders bled, with 2000grit. concentrated on half the bonnet and top of the p/s guard. got that someone peel free, buffed, then polished. i was soo stoked with it, ive already started sanding mroe because we didn't get all the orange peel out yet, this was just a test - buff. but yeah, the finish was awesome, ridiculously reflective. the paints got ALOT of depth.

-just what i had wanted, hence why i used such a "unique" recipe for the paint.

but yeah, after i put in the hard HARD time, ill have the surface completely free, and baby smooth, and he'll come round a buff the whole car.

didn't get a pic

well, rightyo then.

one of the studs in the rear bumper snapped, because the stud had been crossthreaded at one stage, and i had just been getting by as i could with it (how often do you remove bumpers?) but managed to hammer it out and put a bolt in.

thats about the only problem i had really.

well since i sorted out the brake pedal, (tried everything, couldnt get it hard) now all that was left is the exhaust, got that done just an hour ago at westernport exhausts in hastings,

they did 3 circuitous welds, and fabbed up the pipe going from the muffler (just before the diff) to the end of the system.

charged me an amazing price! stoked! highly recommended.

but yeah, gotta wait till Monday/Tuesday to take it in to the roady joint, and have the certificate written up!!

Back the car up the hill and get a picture in the sun.

Did you extra cut the paint before the buff was used, mind the corners/edges with the machine buffs.

Don't rest the Jim beam or beer on the roof. it should slide off now.

Top effort Sterlo, 18 months of pain. Now the fun starts.

not sure mate, i didn't do the buffing, from memory he used;

rejuvenation compound, thick pasty stuff, and a hell coarse foam pad.
then some white cutting compound, with a finer pad.
then some swirl remover/polish stuff, with an even softer pad.
then it was just a wash and a hand polish.

i need to gourney through the washboard though, theres still some dried cutters in there i cant get out [:-(]

and yeah ill get a good pic in the sun, looks pretty nice.

and yeah realised the brake lights were on, had to adjust the brake light switch after i found the pedal off its bar. adjusted it perfectly, ( i like to have the Brake lights come on THE SECOND the pedal is touched [:x)] )

well my brake switch adjustment is now too sensitive. the lights come on when i depress the clutch! LOL

nothing to really update about. im just bored as...

i bought a pair of second hand rotors that turned out to be undersize, but i managed to get the part number for factory rotors, ordered them in though supercheap auto.

- called up, asked for rotors for a 1976 1600 ford escort, they contacted dba or abs or dbr or something, called me back and qouted me $300 for a pair!, yet when i gave them the part number, they qouted me just over $100 for a pair. now how the hell does that work? owell just glad its sorted. better be the right ones.

one the brake rotor nightmare is over (mostly my fault for dragging it out) then thats finally everything. ive said those words too many times!

only 8 weeks till im 18, running out of time lol...
