alright just a bit of a worded update, i got impatient with waiting for roady parts to arrive, so i decided hey, its not hard, and i removed my head, and decided i wanted to try out the new cam GDUB sold me, cam& rockers are in, lubed up to the sh!tter, and now im just waiting on the gasket set to come in.. soo much waiting lol..

twins are still waiting for rego passing, otherwise, shes moving smoothly,

the no4 plug getting soaked, and occasionally no3, turned out to be valve stem seals leaking like a sift....which is good, means my ring job (lol..) was done right..well, right enough.. lol

That last pic is a classic [88][88]
How good is the timing (by you and the dogs) to get both tongues out!

hahaha that happened to me before i took the pic..

i was like whaaat? ohh.. lol

why does our generation still have postage? why cant things just be teleported to your door...hehe that would save alot of the patience i am having to use right now, REALLY want to hear the new cam, and after this shipment of parts, theres only 5 things left for roady,

just windscreen, brake rotors, extend exhaust, torn rear seat and secure rear speakers!

oh and replace a bulb, thats easy, but im lazy..

well, she fired up today, put the head back on with Gdubs cam, after i set the tappets and put it back together,

filled the carby up with a sludge pump, and she fired first go, sounds sooo good, i cant believe how much i was missing out.

the growl is just insane, i was lucky to have a half decent tune first start, doesnt cough or splutter at all, but the extractors got a bit hot, suggesting the timing is to retarted.

yep, timing was at 12degs, set it to 15-16 (cant say exactly, no markers)

and she purrs along beautifully, this cam isnt suited to my little driveway rallies though, need the open road to enjoy it.

u can really feel some G force coming in, first gear is nothing, floor it, and 1st is gone, hit second, get to about 2500-3000, and man being the driver, i could feel some pull. i love it.

i put some stop smoke in (oil thickener) and the exhaust is pretty clean, which is good, well that and the new stem seals.

i must be using a cortina sump, even with smcka's brand new mounts, the sump still almost sits on the crossmember, but my gearbox mount is real sagged too.

well fordsy your steering wheel came in today, cheers,

didn't put it on yet cuz i wanted to take it for another spin, whenever its been a week or two i start to get the shakes haha

got new pics with the foglights, and even a thrashing video

please dont get me wrong, i treat this thing like a baby, but everynow and then u gotta just let your right foot fall [:x)]

how can i test if my alternator is operating well without a meter? all my electrics work fine, but it always wants a jumpstart to get it running.

my valvetrain is still very loud too? (yes, it was loud with the old cam too. any ideas? my rocker doesnt have a baffle plate inside it, well it has something but i dont think it woudl do d!ck.

you'll find with any pinto running large valve clearances due to a large cam that they will tend to be noisy, rocker covers made from thicker material will be able to help make the noise less audible, but can be expensive and hard to come by these days
if theyre noisy least you know you haven't set them to tight!
