haha cheers guys! shes going for a roadworthy check this Saturday morning! hope they dont get scared, i want someone to give me an actual list, that i can fix, then return to!

finally took her for a quick run, not running amazingly..light backfiring out the exhaust under full throttle, & bit of hesitation.

owell i will wait till i get it back to sort that out.

im all for the next gathering cruise, even if i do have to get a mate to drive [:x)]

just still a little embarrased by the paint at the moment, have to stand atleast 3 meters back for it to look good, hoping a buff/cut will bring out some quality!

any ideas what i should use to glue that trim peice onto the dash?

as some of you may know, factory ford it is glued on, mine peeled off when i tried to take the fuzz off it

I will keep an eye out for it. Are you taking it to Westernport Exhausts for your roadworthy inspection ?

With your panel for the dash, have you thought of maybe some really good double sided tape, or otherwise use some screws and make them look as a feature.

A pissed mate will chew it off the dash for you.
My first rear spoiler ended up with bits missing, when a pissed idiot chewed on it a few times.

Yes, just the corner right off and some teeth marks through the top of it.
I got a car just for the pub after i found someone sitting on the bonnet one night.
Not drinking late at night has saved me a few times, it's fun fighting pissed people.
Your VK would make a great pub taxi.
My little sister was in a band, so i had to work. Patrick Swayze Roadhouse style.
No one touched the old VB, the manual choke stopped a few people stealing it.

the VK has already blown up unfortunately..

well the gemini literally went to peices, removed the head to find piston 3 was in a million peices, rod snapped, and conrod journal was somewhere, you could see the crank journal was bare.[:u]

whether it was stretch of rod/bolts then the cap coming loose and everything else smashing we will never know, thats my guess.

the commodore didn't blow up, that just decided to almost seize, took stupid amounts of effort to turn over by hand with a big (BIG) ass breaker bar. gave up with it and it was sent off to be crushed.

got the escort back from Hastings Brake and Clutch today.

well we picked it up, staying at my mates house overnight.

unfortunatly i left the list in the car lol..

but anywho, these people where honest and to get right to the point, were NOT scared of a "sh!ty old esky"

list had if i remember corectly 10-15 things.

washers dont work (forgot to fill the bottle again argh..)
rear parker bulb dim
engine mounts
front rotors undersize
headlights need adjusting
exhausts ends a few inches to early.
drivers door seal
rear d/s or p/s seal cant remember which side.
rear liscence plate lights n/w
windscreen

thats all i can remember at the moment, ill edit it 2moro with the other things.

he also said he cant roadworthy it with the engine running poorly, for the fear of backfiring - fire hazard i guess?

either way this is good news for me, because i can fix those things (as you noticed most of which take only a few minutes to do) and then return back to have my RWC handed over!

[:x)]

cant wait, its only a matter of time now.

the only money headaches will be from brake rotors, engine mounts and windscreen really..

cheers man, im happy with the new interior too, really makes the inside look bigger...less cluttered & busy..

back to roadworthy, heres the rest of the list

more than half takes mere elbow grease.. so yeah, depending on how $$ funds are, it should be back there in a fortnight id say

$$/Replacement Needed ------------------------

engine mounts
front rotors undersize
rear spring shackle bushes
drivers door seal
rear d/s or p/s seal cant remember which side.
windscreen
Steering wheel to be original (was hoping to get around that[:x)])
Rear seat torn

Good 'Ol fashioned Elbow Grease! -------------

rear liscence plate lights n/w
washers dont work (forgot to fill the bottle again argh..)
rear parker bulb dim
horn n/w
secure rear speakers better
headlights need adjusting
exhausts ends a few inches to early.
tighten bolts on igntion barrel to steering collumn
engine need tune
cylinder head very noisy (crane told me to set the tappets like that, and now they are very loud, ill just set them to pinto specs)
p/s bumper has a bolt loose

after the weekend all the things on that "elbow grease" list will be GONE
hehe

already ordered smcka's heavy duty 50mm engine mounts. my 30yr old ones just couldnt put up with the abuse, they used to sit the sump about an inch off the crossmember, now the sump has apparently been rubbing on the crossmember!! like to the point its gone through the paint and you can see metal [:u]

hence why im fixing that first [:x)]

well the poor running after a bit more driving ended up resembling the good 'ol misfire, so, a clean up of an old plug, swap that with the mangled one thats in cyl4 and shes running beautifully again..

ill tell ya theres nothign that will make u feel ur car is fast than not driving it for ages..

i can agree with that, drove my 1.3 esky for ages while my golf was broken, got back in the golf and couldnt believe how quick it was. i was properly taken back by how fast it got to the speed limit lol
