Hey, the brakes are being upgraded today to ventilated and slotted Capri ones with new pads all round and it will also be dynoed in the next couple of days. Can't wait.

Here is a photo of my completed custom console which is also getting upholstered in the next few weeks.

Well I finally had her dynoed. I am very pleased with the results. [^] Rolly has done a very good job.

The engine has very useful power, I won't need to overstress the engine to achieve it, 127bhp at the wheels. It has a very flat 825 ft/lb of torque useable over a very large rev range.

Very happy

This was with a standard fan on it still, so when I eventually fit an electric fan the results shall be better.

Go the Carbs!!! [:x)]

The Brakes have been ugraded to Capri spec on the front, vented and slotted, with overhauled M16 callipers. The pads are Ferodo DS3000 all round and work extremely well, no warm up required.

All I have to do is wait for the centre console to be upholstered and then I'll get her registered... finally.

Somethings a bit odd... is top speed really 100km/h?

This was done in 4th gear? (1:1 drive)

Well I've had a bit of time at the start of this year and decided to do some more things which I've always wanted done. Namely fixing all the small annoying things that the previous owner did half arsed like the electrics, fuel plumbing, rear battery operation, and a few other minor things.

I've completely re-wired the entire car modifying a 1.6L loom so I kept my old but tired RS one in tact. It has taken me 5 months and many cuts bruises and a severe soldering iron burn to the bottom of the foot to get (almost) there. [:u] [:o)]

My aim was to have just one wiring loom to run through-out the car and a sweet tidy looking engine bay. I've wired in an alarm that operates everything and I've used brand new terminals and proper soldering and heatshrink through-out. I've hidden the multitude of relays in one long block all together so that everything looks like it would be factory.

I've tidyied the routing of many wires, for example the fuel pump, battery cables (now running inside the car from the right rear over the wheel arch into beneath the rear seat then running along the left side and out through a hole which I found a custom oval rubber grommet for) and everything through-out the engine bay (lights now run out from in front of radiator)

I just got some Diahatsu Sirion rubber boots today to neatly route all the electric cables into the door through the frame so it looks factory.

Having tried FOR YEARS [}:)] to get new repro door cards I bought some english ones off my mate Rolly Waters at Racetune and I'm going to use these. They're mint.

The previous owner cut two holes in the stock door cards for some speakers. I didn't want to cut into the new door cards so I've got just one Clarion speaker operating in the middle through the air vent. Works quite well. My reasoning is that the car isn't for a sound system it's for track days, just one speaker will do for between home and the track.

I bought some new VDO gauges, cause, well, they old ones were scratched, and well, you know, I kinda wanted a common silver and black highlight theme through-out the interior. [:o)]

I've replaced the old Crane XR-700 thats been in use for 13+ years with a Crane HI-6 unit and LX-92 high output coil.

I've had a few more bits and pieces powder coated and chromed and spreay painted. The nose cone needed the black to be re-done.

If there was a screw or bolt I came accross I replaced it with stainless, if I came accross a rubber item I replaced it.

Yet another stage is almost complete. I've come to realise that this is a never-ending work in progress. Lots more to do but it's good for another year or two until I want to do something else.

Completed photos are yet to come....

My main motivation this time was to pay attention to the details for the Perth All Ford Day in late Oct which Rolly has invited me to under his Racetune banner.
