WOW! Just read the whole thread. It must have taken some guts to start this project; your Cossie looked pretty sweet to start with Lincoln. Well congratulations on your results so far! You sure have some skill. I will hopefully need some of your inspiration soon as I have an XR4TI shell sitting in the shed begging to become a race car :)

Cheers Matt

Some people may not like this but I have been scrubbing and prepping the whole underneath of the car - took ages (24hrs total I reacon) and got it cleaned all up. However instead of white that I have to keep clean I used a satin black solvent based stone guard. The whole underneath is satin black and I think it looks The stone guard remains flexible whilst still being tough.

Also fitted the front suspension and some of the rear (still need to fit rear gpa ARB). Some may not like the colour combo but sick of all black and white and wanted something to offset all the braided fittings coming. The whole car is being assembled from new cap head socket screws - incl. new arp cromo studs fitted in the hubs

Also my mate Paul has almost got his Fraser (seven style kit car) almost done too! So many custom bits on the car all fabricated by his oen hand!!!!!

10" wide centrelocks.

Offset engine mounting to fit a big driver.

Throttle bodies.

Extractors and muffler.

Wide track suspension arms.

Coilovers.

Dry sump system.

So many detail bits and pieces....

Looking good Lincoln. I bet it has given you a big boost of enthusiasm to see it starting to all come back together. Looks like it will have the go to back up the looks too! I have a question for you. I happened to notice the rose joints on your rear trailing arms & they've got me interested. I have some modified rear arms myself which have been converted to take ford motorsport rose joints. The difference is that your rose joints are mounted vertically, whereas mine are mounted horizontally. Just wondered if you knew the reasoning behind this & whether there are pro's & con's for each option? I have attached a couple of pics of my arms, the second is incomplete but with special jig to correctly position rose joint tube during fabrication.

Cheers Matt

p.s. sorry I'm not trying to hijack your thread.

That beam is adjustable for caster (toe in/out) only. Have not seen that one. There are a few methods of doing it;

Mine is adjustable for caster and has the same joint horizontally mounted like yours. You can just about see it on one of my pics (I will take more). The vertical ones in the centre adjust the camber.

This beam I made for a friend is adjustable for caster by the slotted inner pickup. And adjustable for camber by the vertical rose joint.

Any more help mate give me a ring. 0417167885.

Lost a few gaskets in the mix so slowed down final engine assembly for a bit

Thought I would show you and good plating solution I have found. I hope you all know you should not plate hubs, axles etc because of embrittlement possibly caused by the process (hydrogen and nitrogen trapped). Found a low temperature phosphate plating that is AOK.

Looks cool too like the grey cast iron. And pretty easy to mask certain areas (with race tape - 1002 uses!)

Also you can see the mods for the centrelock conversion - turned smaller id and od.

Set the turbo up with the ceramic coated housing and manifold. Cannot believe how close it all fits.
Those cosworth engineers must have breathed a sigh of relief when it all just missed.

Had to grind the lug on the head to fit the compressor housing - I assume this is standard practice??
