Yeah Rhys thats where I was heading but they also require the larger stub axle (Capri) which means more costs and as I have a perfectly decent pair of struts and inserts I'd rather use. I'm sure i can get the alloy hubs to fit the smaller stub axle but I think they're the same dimensions as the OEM item so no benefit.
Unless anyone can enlighten me otherwise?

Cheers

Paul are you talking about having to use capri/rs hubs (+10mm track) on the smaller stub axle?
I recall someone working out the bearing size differences so you could do this.

I recall someone looking into it also but without sleaving the stub axle I don't think it can be done. I don't think there is a bearing with an inner and outer race to suit the small shaft / larger bearing combination.

Hey Paul. Rather than chuck all my pics on upc's for sale thread, I just pm'd you with what I did to get alloy hubs onto my 2L Escort struts.

Is there any difference between a Mk1 and Mk2 kit, apart from the high tensile bolt thread for bolting the caliper to the strut? I am looking at purchasing these second hand from a person who had them fitted to a mk2, but i want to fit them to my Mk1 Capri struts?
Thanks
Kieran

+1 (1)
Ignoring brake fittings, stub axles are different between mk2 and capri struts.
