WTB - Celica 5 Speed G/Box

Hi Guys,

Anyone got a celica 5 speed g/box they are keen to sell? I have the B/Housing.  I'd be great if it came with prop shaft etc...

I am after the steel g/box type.

Cheers,

Matt

I've just been thru the Celica Box in escort malarkey.. depending on the Belhousing kit you have , as mine is a Dellow , I needed a spigot Bush to join the conversion together was purchased from Dellow and made of bronze...I also got Paul one at same time. Mine shattered on test fit with the clutch etc so I lathed up a better design which uses the escort spigot brg(Dellow doesn't) . As for clutch ,I'm running a zetec motor with zetec 2.0 flywheel and Uprated clutch which I took in to ACS and got the centre spline swapped out from escort/zetec to Celica at a small price of $55 and was done while I waited !

Hi Marty. Is there an issue regarding clutch pedal travel vs clutch fork travel where the escort pedal does not permit sufficient travel to properly disengage the clutch?

    Cheers

Ah yes I know what you mean. . The snout on Celica Box is short and the escort thrust carrier fell off the end at full travel So I made a longer one and tacked in place , also made a bigger block for the pivot side to bring the thrust brg closer . I opened the fork Window hole to work properly .
Haven't had time to hook the Clutch cable yet but think all is fine now.
Tell ya what. . Celica Box + zetec + wcxm in a mk1 van is a very very tight install but once in is neat.;-)
