I did the same On my mk1 van which has a mk2 floorpan and threw them out. .. They were chock thick of sealant . I replaced with alloy slugs and used sikaflex to seal them off.
The heater seal rubber thing I make one up from high density foam of about 8-10mm thick so it squishes tight. Sorry I can't help with the plugs but the idea might help !

Are you referring to the oval plastic ones, the round metals ones or both?

You can get new rubber plugs in packs from most hardware/ auto shops. Don't be put off by dirty originals, if you can find them, hot soapy water, a scrub, then a coat of protectant will bring them up like new...... for the heater seal get a 1m x 1m x 5mm sheet of rubber from bunnings, about 20 bucks, should be enough to cut out that, aswell as new drop tank straps and the splash guards for the front wings......
Hey Flighter, the cars painted, head over for a look anytime.....
    Cheers Drew......

Sorry for the late reply.  Take a look at www.bresco.com

    Specifically:
    http://www.bresco.com/acatalog/Plug_Button_-_Metal.html
    http://www.bresco.com/acatalog/Grommets_-_Rubber_PVC.html

I think they sell the oval plastic ones too.

Drewdog, I hope to arrange to come see it soon; will be in touch.
