MK2 intake

Hello

I am after a original exhaust intake pipe that goes from the Exhaust to the front of the air intake and allows hot air from exhaust into the intake filter.

Heat shielded flex pipe I think it is but called the "Stove"

If anyone has one please let me know.

Cheers
Andrew

I wish you very good luck with that... And do not like your chances at all !

When I got my first Escort (about 1989) I noticed this pipe was in the diagrams and missing, so I got a brand new one from Ford to fit to it...

It lasted no more than about a year before it fell apart with the heat.  It was a mixture of silver paper type stuff over concertinated cardboard type stuff and did not seem to cope weel with heat (go figure why!).  I have never seen one in wrecking/owning about 20 2Lt Escorts over the last 20 odd years.

You may be lucky and find one from a Ford dealer, or able to adapt one from another type of car, but my experience with it was that it did nothing and made no difference to the cold starting in the mornings (Even thought the vacume port switch in the air cleaner did work)

Just my 2.2c worth including GST....

You can buy them from any auto parts store. all you need to know is the inside diameter and the length you need.

I do agree with Mr Charrett though, they do absolutely stuff all.

    Make it go FASTER!
