August 12th-14th Graeme. There should be at least two Group A Sierra running at the meeting, so it should be worth the trip out. Hopefully that works in with your trip, it'd be good to meet you.

Paul.

Ok, so only a bit over three weeks until the 50th Anniversary of Touring Cars meeting at Lakeside Raceway. I recently read that Norm Beecheys Monaro and Moffats Mustang will be at this meeting, which only adds to what's shaping up as an epic event. Apparently they are expecting up to 10,000 spectators over the weekend [:u]

Anyway, I was thinking of making Saturday the 13/08 our cruise/meeting to this event, as it's only $20 entry for the day and a few of these old cars probably won't make it to Sunday

What do you guys think?

A few good points you make there Paul. I was talking to a mate who went down to the historics at Philip Island earlier this year & he said that Friday & Saturday were the pick of the three days as a lot fewer cars ran on the Sunday. Anyway I am keen to fit in with the majority I guess. Unfortunately both days present some issues for me.

Yeah, I went to the 50th anniversary Sports Car meeting last weekeend and quite a number of cars didn't make to Sunday.

It'd be great if you can join myself, Jasen and Saleem on Saturday Matt. Unfortunately Jon is overseas so won't be able to make it, but it should be a great day.

On Saturday, Salem, Matt, Jasen and myself, all made the trip to Lakeside in our Sierra to see the 50th Anniversary Touring Car meeting. Weather was fine and there was a decent Group A&C field on track, including the ex Colin Bond and Glen Seton Sierras. It was another great day and really gave me some inspiration to get to Muscle Car Masters and the PI Historics soon, to see an even bigger field of these cars.

It was good to meet Aarron, who is building a Sierra track car but was driving his very potent YBT powered Mk2 Esky. Was also good to meet Carl who is about to start a resto on his BTCC Sierra RS500 but was driving a very nice Capri in the Group A&C class.

Here are a couple of small videos I took on the day. They aren't great but they are in 720p, so you can watch them in fullscreen at least. Hopefully I'll have a few photos to share in the next day or two as well.

Anyone keen on a get together at the QLD All Ford Day at Kedron? I've put a post up in the "coming events" section, but I'll email the usual suspects as well :)

Looking forward to the QLD All Ford Day this coming Sunday. I've contacted Jon Cornell and arranged for those of us attending to join him as part of the RSOC display.
I'll give the regulars a ring sometime this week to make arrangements for the day.
