Got a bit done on the E finally, amazing what a bit of time off from work with no plans can do for you. I stripped out the engine bay and took the car to Erics where several coats of Sapphire blue were duely applied skillfully by Eric. He has done a great job and it's as clean a whistle in there. Now I can refit the freshened up driveline and plan the rest of the body prep.

Drivers seat got retrimmed, vinyl roof kit came over from East Kent, loads of small parts chased up such as grey wire clips, Map reading light, over rider rubbers,

ooooh as a matter of fact the E's wheel has torn leather so yes I'm interested.

Began fitting the engine bay stuff the car is beginning to take shape. I re=coed the master cyl as the E had the single circuit braking system seems a bit inadequate. Perhaps this is why the car is fitted with double horns....[(#)] Seriously there is one piston and one seal inside the cylinder. I'm tempted to convert to Aus spec dual piston master cyl and lines. New pics added

JR,

picture number 69 in your 3000E restoration (photobucket), there is a light near the bonnet release that you said you were unsure of - that would be the hand brake tell tale light wouldn't it ?

Thats what I thought but I cannot see a switch in he handbrake lever.

Todays little jobs are the rest of the braking system. I have 2 new rear wheel cylinders and 2 caliper seal kits.

Tomorrow I should be good to drop the engine and box in

Replaced the steering coupling and painted up the rack etc, I had meant to have the drivetrain in by now buy should get this done during the week. Tomorrow I'm swapping the front sway bar and brackets for a MK3 2.8i one (23mm) and curved at the mounts to stop leteral movement, now if I still had that MK3 anti dive kit I gave away........

Ok much work has been done.   Paint is on.  New Headlining made and fitted.  New Vinyl roof fitted.  New front screen, heated rear screen fitted with new rubbers and inserts, it is currently on the hoist getting a complete exhaust.  Tomorrow night I get it back and will begin fitting the trim.  Heres the photo link
