Good luck with the sale Rhys, these were kitted just before I gave them to you. The only thing id consider changing would be the linkage, other than that, they were in very good condition.

Yeah thanks mate, I've had them dynoed twice on my car and the last dyno was a year ago. That linkage at first was a tricky one but i positoned it a different way, moved it in the centre more. I would agree though, a new linkage would be better then going through what i did to make it work on my 2LT.
They are so dam sexy though, i will miss the shiny on them thats for sure haha.
Cheers Rhys

I actually went from 40's to 45's on my rally car and regretted it.
Dont expect to be able to feel much improvement at all just by going to the bigger carbs. You do get a little more right up top, basically revs a bit harder up high but you will definately feel its got less torque down low and not as sweet to drive on the road.
Unless you are building an all out raced car I would stick with what you have.
Cheers

yep I agree,Ive had 45s on my 2ltr Escorts and the 40s do just as good a job normal driving (for me) unless your reving the christ out of it then the 45s are a beter bet on a well speced, cammed and ported, tuned engine.

I've done a fair bit of head work and have a stage 4 cam etc, but ive pondered it and i think i might just rebuild the 40's bigger chokes, jets etc. Thanks Guys Rhys
