From memory there is tool place down near South Terrace/King William Street in the city that sold Sykes Pickavant spot weld drill bits, however that was near on 10 years ago.

    Cheers

I have used both types - the HSS drill and the small holesaw style.

By far the easiest (and best results IMHO) is the 8mm HSS item (below). I think they're actually a milling machine bit but they work a treat. I get mine from Gasweld on Research Rd @ Pooraka. Cost around $15ea although they did not have any last time I enquired.

Also try KC tools on South Rd @ Wingfield.

    Cheers guys.

Went to GasWeld in Pooraka and no go. They apparently only stock the holesaw style now but have run out till next week.

Went to "The Tool Man" in the Pooraka Paddies Market and he had the holesaw type for $15.

Went to Motortraders in Kilburn and they had the HSS type (the ones I wanted) for $19.....BINGO!!!!! I also go a hinge pin removal tool that lastest 5 minutes today but that's another story [8~2]

yep, grind a normal drill flat then grind some relief flanks from the cutting edge down and a leave a small centre for location very easy after you've sparpend a few thousand drills in your time.

similar to a spot facing/counter bore drill, if you were local ,I could knock you one up.
