Its been a while but car is now ready for inspection and registration.
I still have to swap rims over before I take it in, these ones feel a lot better to drive on than the standard 12" rims.

Sweet, congratulations.
I knew you would like running the 15 inch wheels on it.
I nearly got blown off the M1 one time with the stock wheels.

How unlucky am I ? ... first the front screen ... now the rear !

My wife was mowing the nature strip in front of our place and the mower picked up a stone flicking it into the garage.

I am grateful for her doing the lawn and saving me a job but it just topped off an already crap day !!

The stone managed to make it through a gap underneath the open boot hitting the rear screen, shattering it, into a thousand pieces !

That really sucks, sorry to hear that, but I think I would prefer the stone going in to the glass over hitting paint.

The original owner bought the MK1 from new.
He use it for 20 years till the eldest daughter used it for her first car.
She was murdered, and the car was kept in her memory.
The old boyfriend was a spray painter and did the rust and paint around 1995. the inside of the drivers door was left on purpose.

I waited 5-6 years for that car. and the only reason i ended up with it was my sisters father in law did all the maintenance on it.

It had to go to someone that would appreciate it and looked after it. It's in safer hands now. so i thought[:x)]

Don't be surprised if you find rust around the rear screen.

You know who to call when you get sick of it.Please!
I miss driving it.

The bonnet is off so I can get in to replace the water pump and have a bit of a tidy up.
No big engine swap just yet Jesse, I have something in the pipeline but wont be for a while yet.

Is that the man himself Mark ?
Is this pic when you took possession of the car, she looks very shiny ?
That is a sad story about his daughter, It must have been hard for him to sell it.
What was the purpose for leaving the inside drivers door ?

Yes it is in safe hands now [:x)]

I have removed the broken rear screen yesterday as I found a replacement item and sourced a new rubber and locking strip too.

There was no rust around the edge of rear windscreen hole at all. Happy about that
When we replaced the front screen there was a little bit up on the top of passengers side, but nothing major, the O'Briens guys fixed it before the installation.

She is like another child and wont be ever getting sick of it, so I couldn't sell it.
I love driving it !
