Thanks for fixing up those pictures

Seeing as I'm putting a sierra 5 speed in the car and I won't be able to use the old centre console because of where the shifter comes out etc, I was thinking of building my own, something similar to the Mk1 Capri console. Does everybody think that would suit the interior of the Escort?

Thanks mate.

I've gone away from the idea of black with the chrome tappet cover. Instead I'm going with the standard blue block and head with a polished alloy tappet cover.

This is what it looked like before:

Here's what it looked like this morning after the first coat (that is not the tappet cover I'm using, that's why it's not been painted).

Also, yes the spark plugs are being changed! haha

I would have prefered it if I could've painted it on an engine stand, so I bought one, but the flywheel is so tight (perhaps done up with a rattle gun way tighter than it needs to be), so we couldn't get that off to make it fit on the stand...oh well, at least I know it's not going to cut my legs off!!

Took to the headers with some black UHT paint on the weekend, they came up really well.

It's starting to come together now, hopefully the motor will be dropped in on the weekend, then should be up and running by the weekend after *fingers crossed*

This is where the motor is up to as of today... It's very slowly getting there!

Today I had an idea to paint the tappet cover (I changed my mind......again) in semi-matte silver to match all the accessories.

(Ignore the mess of wiring, I'm not up to the stage of sorting that out yet!!)

Well the Eskie fired up today and it sounds awesome :D

Still yet to take it for a spin because I ran out of fuel while tuning it...

A picture from the other week when it was still not quite finished (don't have any new pictures, but you get the idea!).

Looks great Juiceman. My better 1/2 really digs it too. She always wanted to paint hers red, and I think yours might have tipped her over the edge :D

Well the car has been back on the road for about a week and a half now. It can be a bit of a pig to drive but it's very quick so I don't care!
