The numbers check out, model 11938 is a 1980 RS sedan, paint code X Lemon Lime.
Its a late one too being April 1980, not sure when they stopped but it can't have been long after that.

Yep concur with that Drewdog.
One thing also re panels etc 9and I know its top shelf and blows any budget) but I think Carl (SMCKA) is stocking all the Magnum panels. Worth knowing whats around anyway.

Also, I'm not sure when the mk2 was ended but my yellow ( lemon lime) van I restored a couple years ago was a late 80 (sept) model, tho I've heard vans kept going till at least the end of 1980.
As with panels, smcka , of he has them in stock or claim an order ahead of time. MST in Wales, RS turbo breakers in Liverpool are also places to look into, prolly best to do a bulk order of possible.

If using your phone to add pics it'll rarely work, best go the full version and add them there

The last Mk2 Escorts including RS2000's were sold in January 1981.
A mate bought a 'Peter Warren Special' which was an Onyx black 2 door RS2000 delivered in January 1981, essentially an end of model run out. He paid a lot of money for the car but was worth every cent.
Maybe I am starting to feel my age......  :(

If trying to load pics from phone it rarely works, best to go to the full site on the menu on your phone and go from there

What is happening when you are trying to upload photos, and what are you using, phone or laptop?

As mentioned by Marty, when using a phone, you will need to open the full version tab to make it all work.

Can guide you through it with a bit more info once you get back to us?

Hey that's great ! Tho I can see a full on snap going thru the grill, maybe try a plastic stapler welder to get it back in 1 piece, the stapler cost is only $20 and comes with 1000 wiggle staples.
Also hold off on the bonnet as I'm tooling up to make a fibreglass mold from a mate RS in the coming months.
Are you going to keep the Greg Carr stripes or go without?
I used to have a wall poster of Greg and Fred in the 76 RS 2000 really car, yellow, big stripes, satin black bonnet , Forest arches (black).. caption in fine print said 'this vehicle is not a production car and thus not for sale in Australia' Typical !

My intention was to build a steel frame behind the nose to hold everything in place then plastic weld or epoxy the cracks, next job is to find the light brackets, I think I can get the lights from Yesterford, and I could make up the brackets if I had measurements.

Light can be taken from any car that has 5.75in rounds. I had Alfa lights on my RS years ago, decent halogen for European conditions, I think the inner beams were Cibie . it all depends what you want really..

Would anybody have a spare light bracket that they could get dimensions off, same goes for the front nose brackets?
