Mk1 V6 jack and jacking points

I'm hoping one of you Capri gurus out there might know what style of jack was originally supplied with the Mk1 V6. I've never had a decent jack in the car and have decided it's time to get one. Would like to have the same as original or as close as possible. Also what are the recommended jacking points on the Capri? There appears to be a number of points a jack can be used on, depending on what type of jack is used. I've just installed a hoist in my shed and so I also need to identify points for the hoist arms to lift on. Any advice welcomed.

That’s because escorts were always only grocery getters - never a true sports car - sold to people who were only up to changing one wheel at a time 🤭

Timmo, Having Escort and Capri I'm not going to dignify the comment above

I throw my Capri on the hoist no worries. The pics probably describe best.
The doors open well when up on hoist which I think is a goo sign!

Capri was a spares parts bucket for escort lol, 😜 , struts, Atlas, fuel tank, maybe gearbox if it's a close ratio gt1600 , speedo cable, tail lights ...

Thanks everyone for the info. I don't suppose anyone has a genuine Capri jack they are willing to part with have they? Didn't realize Escort owners were so insecure, I'll try not to upset them in future!!!

Hey Tim if you remind me when your visiting next month, I think I have a Escort jack somewhere in my vast range of parts. I usually convert to the scissor jack which fits nicely in the wheel when not in use and a bit more safer ..I gather Escort, cortina and Capri jacks are identical .
There is one thing every Escort has that was for Capri... The jacking point sticker in the boot (or tunnel for Vans) , it has a drawing of a Capri on jacking position... Slack Ford couldn't draw a Escort for Escort could they lol ..
Escfalcap, jack a mk2 2dr escort up using the jack and the door gets sticky to open it close, minor flex happening !

I think you must have been bitten by the concourse bug Tim.

After having the Capri for 30 years, getting an Escort Mk2, felt like such an upgrade.
Mirror on both sides, a glovebox and then a short throw to the gearbox.I dont think escort owners are overly precious

Getting a van though, thats something else.
I feel like Zaphod from Hitchhikers Guide, or a least a weird connection to Tassie somehow.
    Enjoy lockdown #25 peeps.

Yes Marty, I have had that experience with flex. I have an Escort friend who is pretty fanatical about where he jacks the car for that very reason. I just figure it will go back to where it was???

I have a scissor jack from a Falcon (same car I pinched the diff out of for the Capri) and it works a treat. Great on sandy, gravelly stuff and will work without much initial height clearance.
