OEM Altissimo and Butlers each manufactured their own tail light body.

NOS and good pre-loved Butlers and Altissimo tail light lenses left hand side appear to be much easier to find than the right hand side.

An old English Parts ex dealer I know tells me he has a VGC rhs Altissimo Body with a Butler lens and apparently they fit one another ok when I saw them.  Theres no body to housing seal, which I noticed sellers on ebay are asking $300 just for a seal.
As he's computer illiterate. he asked me to sell his RHS Altissimo Body with un-faded Butler Lens for $550 pickup or add extra for delivery
Does this price sound right, or too little or too much ?
The 3 globe holders appear to be VG with just the reverse G/holder loose and I assume a glue gun will re-instate ok ?

Maybe if he gets $550 +p&h he can pay for computer literacy lessons.

I already have good butler lenses but the bodies are Altissimo as were the lenses originally. A good butler or Altissimo lens would be worth $80 to $100 tops for nice ones. $550 for a complete assembly is absurd. I have seen his ad on Gumtree. It was shared (and ridiculed) on facebook recently.

Thanks............  how much would you say he should ask for BOTH the Body and Lens as one, or is it better to separate them and sell separately ?  How much each if separated ?
Ignorant people seem to have plenty of time to ridicule instead of being helpful like all of us here who discuss the ifs and buts and work out the correct price.
The opposite can happen as I saw not long ago where someone had a mint condition FACTORY SHOP MANUAL for XY FALCON for sale at $20 and the ignorant **** who bought it bragged how he sold it for $300, and so many ridiculed the $20 seller very badly which must have been very distressing for him............ Way more than "sellers remorse syndrome"

The body and lens, with no rubber seal maybe $150? The thing is they are such a common part being found on all Mk2 sedans and seem to remain in good condition (got to watch the Butler lenses as they do buckle).
He might get a little more listing them on Ebay, offering international postage because they do sell well in the UK.
If you're friend is not computer savvy it makes sense why his price does not reflect market value.
I've been there, sold items too cheap but it's swings and roundabouts because I've landed some bargains too.

Thanks Haydn.  Your helpful input is much appreciated.  I'll let him know "the story" !
Ive been down this road before with his goods, and he usually starts high and keeps dropping the price till it sells.
    Cheers

It is certainly a better vibe on here.
I wonder how many people are on both  CF and FB.?

I succumbed to FB a few months ago for the first time ever after seeing a semi reasonable price 4 spoke RS steering wheel come up. Of course, missed it by the time I figured how to sign up, join group etc.

Sometimes people are fair with pricing and comments, but its not the default by any means.
I'd much prefer to offer anything here first than on FB anyhow.
