hey guys, checkout this supplier I found.
Good for bulk spray cans, flap disks, gloves, some of the stuff they often sell at markets:
wish I found it earlier, and $10 flat shipping

Handy shop to know of, thanks.

Just realised that now they are advertising on here (big ads between sentences) since I've looked at the shop from your link !

to continue the dumbquestion series, can anyone tell me what these 2 plates are, where do they go, do I need them, and  do they come in different colours? Steel, have been previously painted, and I expect fixed with self tappers by the looks. I thoguth they may have had soemthign to do with the heater? Mudflat support gizmo's?

And I think i'd like to track down one of these for the dash.
If anyone has one they'd be happy to sell, or any leads please let me know.
Have a good weekend fellas.

Those rubber Flappy things are to go under the guard up the front and screw into the flat panel the headlight screws to but not the same screws, they are too stop/reduce water and mud etc getting into the front edge and causing rust. If you've raptor bed linered that area good and sealed there's no real need for them unless you want them there.. tho the rear ones against your foot well should be installed regardless .

Custom clock pod 😁 , I have 1 in a box somewhere which I intend to (you guessed it) copy a mold from. I do have a template to mark where it goes correctly too which will help installing it. Also any 52mm clock fits in the hole if you buy one without a clock.
Stuff it, I'll dig it out and prep it to copy this weekend, I need one or two myself anyways....

thanks Marty, x2.

My Raptor stuff is due in Monday, so its only had 2 coats of exposy so far.
Thanks for solving the puzzle.

Happy to place the first order for a clock pod, whenever it comes into being.
Don't change your priorities though, I'm miles from needing it, and you have a deadline promise to keep.

I've been planning to mold the clock pod ever since I bought it 15yrs ago but the world gets in the way sometimes!

My mate was around for another RallyPack session, he brought to many beers again and not much was done apart from ripping out the diff, springs, back swaybar and exhaust, not to mention the towbar gantry in which a couple of bolts got rusted up, I used a chisel to shock the nut into a new shape and it freed up easily.

Looking in my vast shed I remembered another mate has his nearly complete rs2000 stored, he said I can borrow the dash as long I take care of it and not break anything.
I'm still to setup the revopoint scanner, I need a 54hr day and 36 day week with everything going on here...

This is the one I found.
List of 2024 Hot Wheels | Hot Wheels Wiki | Fandom

I've never really collected models, I've always been vary of that rabbit hole and have just stuck to the real cars.
These are a bit of fun though, I'll have a hunt while I'm waiting for the Mrs at the shops and will look out for and visa versa, other cars for my mates and their kids.

Handy website Drew, yes it looks like a Supervan is on the cards.
Will be interesting to see if its the current Pike Peak killer version. I'm not a collector as such, its just a bonus if you find an escort amongst all the phaf. Now I'm limiting myself just to buy any escort, and the odd landy.
One day, they'll do a Capri maybe.

Meanwhile, back in the shed:

some progress fianlly. This side of the van got rubbed down, filled in spots, and first coat of 2 pack epoxy undercoat.
Got the bonnet, grill section and front apron done last night as well. Funny how the phone flash has changed the colours, but its all grey, just reflective in the pics.
Now its sealed, I'm planning to pull it out of the garage, and go back to the inside rear, the drivers rear side still needs the inner wheel tub made up and fitted.

A mate has lent me a Sport fascia panel. I'd planned to try and draw it up, so I can 3D print a custom one, or rearrange to go more the RS version.
Unfortunately I didnt realise how complex the unit actually is, waaay beyond my drawing skillset.

The van and Sport versions are virtually identical, just the centre fuel/temp gauge, even the guage membrane was similar:

The fascia itself looked like it went through the 90's colour coding fad, but would be rescuable:

Not sure exactly what had happenned to the odo in the vans dash, numbers just were vanished off it..

I'm sure its totally outlawed in 39 countries to touch this, so I'll get it looked at by an authorised repairer of course...
or get another one

My current thoughts if possible  would be to find/print/cobble an RS fascia, and put new individual guages behind it, out of their cases ideally, and all behind the curved perspex so it looks traditional. So a bit more thinking.

Swap them over Deano! We won't tell anyone
Have a look at some of the places like Dakota Digital for inspiration?

Hehe MarkA , I remember when they came on the scene around 20+yrs ago, a dash almost suitable for a mk1 Escort (chev blazer) was nearly $1000+post back then, yikes, hopefully they've gotten cheaper over the years like any tech gizmo !
