yeah ill check them out just thought there might be another option like escort ones . im after the whole lot complete with nut on the end as i see smcka has the rod ends with no inside nut that locks the ball end in . rather change the whole lot in one go

Are the rack ends what they call tie rod ends, if not please post a photo of what you require.  Where did you get the pinion bearings from.
    Regards
    John

havent pulled them out yet but yeah tie rod  many different names in different countries ive always known them as rack ends  ..
i would imagine bearings would be easy to get from bearing shop .  nsk etc

does anybody know if the 4cyl racks would be the same as the v6 rack think i might have found 4cyl steering tie rod or steering rack ends but listed for 4cyl . i would assume they would be the same but not sure

4 cyl and 6 cyl tie rod ends are identical, however the 4 and 6 pinion bearings are different.

hey deano were they for escort or capri  .. rang them the other day  they dont have any capri ones .  not sure if escort ones are the same tho .  plenty escort ones about , i would of thought they were the same steering racks , considering the lower arms are the same

yep, for the Capri (71,1600 Mk1), and from Yesterford.
I even checked with Mike to see if they have boots with the new ones (yes of course).
My rod ends were actually fine mechanically, it was just the boots were split.
YF sells the boots seperately also.
Happy to give you my old ones if it helps out, still got them.
The new ones from YF were some 'Protex' brand you see around.
Here's a link I found online (looks like this, but mightnt be this specific model in the link)

I'll dig the box or invoice out tonight if you want the part number

sorry mate, I read the thread again, it must not be the tie rod ends you are after.
I have rebuilt my steering rack many years go, and also replaced the nylon inner rack support bush John mentioned.

Do you mean the track control arms, with the ball at the rack end that sits in a nylon cup?
