where to purchase Capri front hubs?

Hi Guys,
It looks like my front hubs have died, and wont accept new wheel bearings.

Im wondering if anyone knows where new cast iron hubs can be purchased, or if its possible to get them anymore?
Burtons, Motomobile etc only have the Aluminium ones, with the thread inserts which dont excite me, and Mike from Yesterford wont sell them either.
No luck with Repco, Bursons etc either...
thanks

    Hi Deano,
Is the bearing cup spinning in the hub or did the bearing fail causing the cup to weld to the hub?
You could try a machine shop to have the hub repaired if you get stuck.
Silly question time, have you been supplied with the correct bearing?

    Hey Blue,
yes the bearing cup was spinning in the hub, otherwise the hub is ok.
The hub has been fine, I just thought it time to replace the bearings (not done for 20+ years).
When the new bearing cup was fitted, it was too loose, then when trying the old one back in, it was excessively loose also, and looked to have spun a little at some stage, thus I thought its time for a newy, and I'll just buy one...
If it's possible to get oversize bearings, we could lathe the hubs  out bees.
Othwerwise, what is the concensus on the alloy hubs, they sell them, and I presume them must be ok to a degree?
I guess the rally boys use them (albeit in the grp 4 larger spec studs etc)??

Deano, Give Brian Gelding a call (02 9603 5333). He is bound to have hubs.
Failing that I must have a set of hubs as I replaced mine with Hoppers ones a while back.

Many forum members, like those above and myself, will have some used hubs to pass on to fellow Capri owners.
Where are you located?  They are heavy, so a pair which are close to yourself is probably the best option freight wise.
I'm having a clean out and have excess, PM me if you want to talk further.

I'm a bearing guy, and if the wear is not excessive, I'd just use some loctite 241, if the bearing cup sorts of "rattles" that would be too loose , best option is always rebuilding metal and remachining, but would cost a bomb, and no you won't get oversize bearing cups as such, escort hubs are the same im sure..
