ta da, we have maximum stoppage.
Who would have thought that putting the calipers on upside down would make a difference?

So I turned the calipers with the bleeders up, bled each side inner and outer, and once I'd done each one, the peddle immediately had maximum hard pressure at about 1/2 stroke, with the car off.
Just to be sure, I re-bled the fronts one more time, topped up, and went for a drive proper for the first time in about 3 years.
I have never had the car stop as well in 30 years of owning. It stops straight, isnt locking, it just stops dead, to the point that there is now a few more dints in the fuel tank from a couple of tools I threw in the boot, that flung forward during some tests.I have no fear of not being able to pull up in time.
To confirm, the standard original master cylinder does not need changing. The kit comes with 2 spacers that perfectly centre the calipers on the wider disks. Your flexible hose needs changing because the caliper uses banjo style connection. The only change is you need to remove the dust plate, as it cant be used with the wider calipers.
Nothing is bedded in properly yet, but so far, very happy.
Robbie I currently have 14's on the car, but they will fit under 13's, I used the same diameter disk.
Probably didnt need to go ventilated (or slotted), but hey, why not?
Thanks to Ratta Tat Tat for coming up with some good hubs!
Now that it stops, time to make it go
