Anyone know anything about this one?

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ford-Capri-V6-GT-MATCHING-NUMBER-rare-SVO-barn-find-v8-xy-project-swap-drag-fpv/293389709310?hash=item444f63affe:g:pWcAAOSwf~NeAEOV&frcectupt=true

I would hate to see someone pay crazy money for it thinking they were buying something special

They tried to sell it a few years back making the same ridiculous claims. I’ll try to dig out any pictures/info I have when it was last advertised.

It's the same guy who tried to sell the 'Brabham Special' on E-Bay in the last week or so.

I've asked him to put up a photo of the ID plate and he's replied saying that it will take a few days, as it's located out on a farm somewhere!! It's been unregistered since August 2003.

Check out those wheels. Four changes from the "barn" to the "driveway"

Yes as stated. Tried selling a few years back. I tried time and time again to go view it but never a response. We discussed on here I'm sure in the Ebay topic. The front doesn't look right from the pics but I'm sure it's an original V6 from last times sales pitch. Wide body from factory I think is a Con. $20k for a restorer way to much and he stated how it sat outside last time so was the reason for it sale 4+ years ago.

Posted the plate from the rear on FB today. Paint code 6 so not blue like it stands. Nothing stamped in the SVO spot either. It's nothing more special than any other V6 Capri. I would imagine if true a wider diff and different front struts would be appropriate. Flared arches from factory I don't think ever happened.

I also asked for compliance plate and interior photos.
Received compliance plate photo from rear as stated above. (3 engines away from mine!!)
    No interior photos received.

Just occurred to me whilst checking here for any updates ...
One picture shows the compliance plate on the car (as far as I can see in poor photo), another image some of us received shows the rear of a compliance plate i.e. off a vehicle.
    Curiouser and curiouser .....

All that said if its a matching numbers just get rid of the flares and its a good resto starting point for the buyer, if not they can cancel the sale and walk away.
