Rhys' 4dr RS2000 project

Here's a few pics of my latest project to keep my busy over the Uni holidays.

As far as I know its a stock 2lt. Its a genuine RS, and came with all RS gear except the shortshifter, clock in console and glovebox. It has rust in floor pan and a little in firewall. This will all be replaced once exams are over. Then Im going to tidy up the body work and respray it something along the lines of Diamond White or similar.
Still unsure whether or not to re-colour code the grill section.

Its been off the road for 9 or so months and has basically not been touched in that time so it's a bit rough around the edges.

I've also reserved some suitable number plates for it.

After this week I'll slowly update with progress pics. I hope to have it on the road within 2months.

    Glenn,
I couldn't say as I've only been around the block in it, and hadn't been run in 9months so would say its not in the best of 'tunes'.

    Jase,
I've always been a 2dr fan and always will be, but to me its still an Escort and its my first RS so yes....these 4drs are growing on me.

    Rhys,
Hopefully <2months. (I'll race you, who can get their white RS on the road 1st)
Simmons...[:p] if only I had that sort of spare coin.

1vote yes for white grille etc
    3votes black grill and mirrors.

that things gonna look sweet with a bit of work! I also think it needs the colour coded grill. Will you be doing the re-spray yourself?

Ok I think the easiest way to see if I like it is paint is white, then its easy to mask off and go over with black if I dont like it.

    Wiggy,
Yeh will be painting it myself. Dad and I did his Morris Minor and its turned out alot better than we expected so I'm hoping I can pull off acrylic white ok (fingers crossed)
