new mk1 project

picked up my mk1 project today. 1300, auto, 2 door. Jul 73 build. Body is rough but no rust...
Not sure if I have buyers regret or just daunted by size of the project.

Yes, plans have already changed several times...a worked 1600 or 2L pinto to start. Change from auto to manual. Get rid of the sunroof. Change to round headlights I like the idea of Mexico flares at the front or bubbles all around - not sure yet. I'm trying to do something cost effective yet classy... In my line of work i talk to too many people that spend 80k on cars that will never be worth 40k.

Old mate that sold it to me dragged it off his farm out west. He also has an original phase 1, phase 3, xc cobra and several other rare and desirable vehicles.

The first step is to get it out of my warehouse...

    No glass to speak of.

I bought this escort virtually sight unseen but at a decent price. Went over it on the weekend and decided it was way beyond both my capabilities and willingness to throw money at panel work. Almost no rust but every panel was dinged or out of shape.... And the awful sunroof. Stuck it up for sale on Facebook and was overwhelmed by the level of interest for a very rough escort. Sold super quick at a price I was happy with.

Now looking for a better condition starting point. Let me know of any leads.

    Cheers

If you wait 6 to 12 months I'll have a shell ready for sale , I'll asking about 8k for it . Mk1 coup with mods to shell and chassis . However, if I have enough gear to make it run, I'll keep on it till it's driving and sell for at least twice that amount ... We will see...
