Here's the starter motor I use now, heaps smaller and loads more torque , they can be found on eBay for about $200 delivered

With plenty of space to clear xmember etc

    Hi Marty,

Sorry a little confused... that looks like a 2litre starter? mounted on the RHS?
I need a starter for a 1500 on the LHS. Are you saying you  have used this on your anglia as well?
If so would you have a link to the ebay item?

    Thanks in advance

Marty do you have a link to that starter by any chance?
I'm using a spacer on my pinto starter - Zetec and could do with more clearance.

I'm pretty sure you can swing them around for right hand starter, the solenoid will be lower. Anglia has a separate solenoid but it's easy to cut it extend wires..

Just be a bit careful with those starters
Unfortunately mine failed and the seller refuses to accept any responsibility:(
It was great until the nose cone snapped off after 3 months.
