Front ride height/Kings springs

I've just replaced the front coils on my V6 with Kings standard height coils. I thought the car looked too high at the front after installing them but Kings said the Ford specs specify the distance between the middle of the hub and the bottom of the guard should be 360mm which mine now is give or take a couple on mils. It possibly looks high because the rear may have dropped over time, would like to know what the standard ride height should be at the rear, does anyone know??
The King coils are progressive pitch, which means the coils get closer to each other towards the top, when installed the top 3 coils are touching, which Kings say it is the way it should be. Makes it very difficult to install as the claws of the spring compressor tool are jammed by the coils at the top when installed in the strut, I had to tap them down towards the bottom of the coil until the gap between the coils was large enough to remove them. Didn't seem right but Kings say OK. Those going to Capriciation (only a few days to go now!!!) will see what I mean. If you see someone with a tape measuring your rear end gap don't panic, it'll probably be me.

    Hi Tim
Back in the day the capri was known for having a saggy bum look, have a look at pics of from original sales brochures that have been posted in that section of the forum.  Some used to fit helper springs to lift it but I found them too harsh so I just get the rear springs reset.  I would suggest just measure the height that gives the look you want and have them reset to your height.

As for the Kings you might find kings a bit less helpful if they start jumping around in the seats.  Hopefully with standard height you will have a better run than some of us here have had with the lowered ones.

I just installed the lowered Kings springs in the Perana. The code is different now it’s AIFFL-13 so maybe they’ve been changed these are lowered 30mm V6 ones.

The ‘lowered’ v6 king springs were the same as the standard 1600 king springs. The lowering effect seemed to come from the extra weight of the v6 engine pushing the car down. Not ideal.

My Perana springs were cut and different heights on both sides. The King Springs sold now are a different manufacturer code to previous. They are progressive still. When this is driving again I will see what happens.

Maybe the resellers are using different codes but their website is still using the same codes and still listing them as also suitable for escorts, Hondas and Rovers.

I’ve got some pedders original ride height ones to put on if these don’t work. My original ones are a shocking mess. Cut down and different heights.
