Capri Car Club NSW.

Hi I am wanting to join the Capri Club NSW. Wanting to get club rego for two of my cars and drive down for Capriciation at Wagga which is not far off now. I can’t get into the website at all it seems to be closed.
I’ve waited long enough to join any sort of club but previously only way to join was send a fax and post a check. I have never joined as I have not had a check book in over ten years and my children wouldn’t know what a fax is.
Not having a go but it seems very difficult to join in NSW and the site a year or two ago was never updated.
Is it still around?

Hi I am in the Club but not an organiser. Rick Webb posts on here every now and then (has a Capri Classic (red) as his logo). Don't want to put his mobile up on the forum but PM me and I can giver it to you. Rick organises what you are after. They decided to 'close' the website at the last AGM and do everything by email and text. Maybe a bit old but not as old as cheques and faxes!

Forgive me but how are these clubs ever going to survive by going backwards .
If I tried to join something that wanted a cheque and a fax i would instantly give up regardless of what it offered.
They clearly are not looking for any new business when they have no website and also have other obstacles in the way before you can join.

Thanks John. Little frustrating I must say but I will PM you. Bonus I understand that’s why I’ve never joined but I don’t drive my cars enough to warrant full rego.
Unless anyone has another suggestion of a car club around Windsor, Richmond, Wisemans Ferry?

    Hi Wiggy,
Try Classic and Historic Automobile Club of Australia (Sydney) Inc.
I joined several months ago via the recommendation of a good friend.
Located primarily around Glossodia, Pitt Town and Orchard Hills NSW.
Any make and model historic vehicle welcome.
    Historic regos. No huge requirements.
Great friendly people. And best of all no politics.
Good to get away from the same old, same old model cars and see a huge variety of vehicles.
They are very professional. And they do have a website too!

Wiggy, whether you join the Capri Club or another Club , or not I'll send you the number PM. (Apparently system won't let me PM until I have done a min  of two posts = hence this 'filler' post}.

Two of the very few requirements CHACA have is that people are requested to a minimum of three club meetings and/or club outings so the club can get to know you before joining. This is to eliminate the idiot factors trying to join. However in practice if they see you are genuine and you bring your historic vehicle along the requirement can be two meetings.
Also if members have a vehicle or vehicles on historic rego through the club there is a strict club requirement of attending at least 4 club meetings and/or outings a year.
The club interacts with associate car clubs in NSW and Victoria for day and weekend outings.

    Hi Wiggy,
Don't want to sound picky but last time I heard Capriciation was being held at Albury. One of us might be very lonely.

Yes you are correct. My lovely wife has taken care of those details or else if left to me we probably would be in Wagga asking where the action is. All I know is if I don’t get it sorted I’ll be trailering the Perana there not driving. Still in two minds whether that might be better, but surely it’s best to drive it while I’m there legally.
