Capri Sill Trims
Looking at two of my cars my 71 V6 Capri has a plastic clip for the sill trims. My 72 has plastic clip but different to the 71. As far as I know in Oz we only got a single one piece sill trim same profile as XW XY Falcon station wagon. So did the trims change between the years or just the clips. Also has anyone heard of the three split sill trims being supplied here or were they only sold overseas. Thanks.

Yes it was the OZ content thing. Really wondering why clips changed though. Frustrating as I can’t post the pictures. If anyone else can please do.

You can use the XW rear trim kit from Rare Spares. You need to pop rivet the clips on and use a bolt through clip at the front. Bit of a faff but it works I did one last week

So JR was it just the clips that changed? The 71 V6 has three prongs sort of and more a knock in plastic bung to keep it in place. The 72 has a green clip with a pop river. I presume the trim kit you refer to is the later D shaped clip is that correct?

yes, the car I was sorting out was a '70 with the early black clips, could not find anything to suit so swapped for the later XW style and pop riveted them
