Ford Escort MK 2 Colours

Hi All!

I'm new here so I'm hoping I'm posting this in the right area.

I recently purchased a 12/78 MK 2 ford escort and the ID plate says the colour is Y. I have done a Google search and nothing appears to be coming up with a colour under that code. Does anybody have any info? Anything would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

The link above doesn't list Y as a colour code for 12/78. Got the date correct?

Hi Flighter, yes definitely 12/78 in paint code Y. It's isn't a gold colour, it is more of a redish/orangey colour. I have posted the question because I have had trouble finding the colour for this paint code. I have been told that it could possibly be 'Fire Glow' Red. It does seem to be an unusual or rare colour, I am keen to find out more. Cheers LJ.

    Hi Shaun,

    Thank you!

Yes, I do believe it does! I've attached a photo of my escort. I hope this showcases the colour well enough.
