RS2000 doortrims
Hi Guys, Im having trouble finding door trims or door cards for my 4 door RS2000. I have seen new doorcards on eBay but they are completely flat and don’t have the rolled top. The suppliers say the internal window rubber that is normally attached to the door card needs to be fixed directly to the door. Has anyone done this and if so how is it done ?
Any information would be much appreciated.
Paul

Hey mate, Aldridge in the UK sell the full height door cards with the rolled tops. Really nice products but pretty $$$. Especially after shipping parts out. As for the window seal, there is one that attaches directly to the metal door Frame and I think this goes on regardless of what door card you are using. http://www.aldridge.co.uk

Thanks Lee, I have had a look on Aldridge's site and it looks like they only do the door trims for the two door and my car is a four door. I would be happy enough to use the flat trims and paint the top of the door. Do you know where I could by the window seal that attaches straight to the door. How does it fix to the door ? Thankyou for your previous response, much appreciated. Paul

That would make sense as they didn’t sell the 4 door version over there. I went with the flat door cards and painted the top bit of the door and very happy how it turned out. Will post a picture later. As for the rubber, I got that from rare spares. They attach with some weird little clips. Completely independent of the door card.

Hi Lee, I ended up getting the internal window rubbers through a shop in Cessnock who told me Rare Spares no longer do them. They sourced them through a company in Sout Australia but they came without any clips. Can you please let me know how the rubber seals attach to the top of the door. Best regards, Paul

Hi Paul, If you look inside the bottom of the window frame you will see there are slots for where the clips fit in. They are like little bulldog clips with a small metal tab on one side that is designed to fit into the slots. Once in place you push the narrow edge of the inner window seal into them and that is what keeps them in place. They are a very tight fit. I think that I have a couple of spares, I'll post a photo if I can find them. I'm pretty sure I got them off Ebay UK, possible AVO, who sell just about any sort of clip, screw etc for Escorts. Cheers, Len

Thanks Len, If you could post a picture that would be great. At least I’d be sure of what I’m looking for. I’ll check out a few Ebay sites in UK. Best regards, Paul

Hi Len, I’ve just had a look on AVO Ebay store and they have “inner door seal clips” for Mk1 Escort. Do you know if these would work with my Mk2 RS2000.
