Laser KN/KQ Conversion into MK2 Escort

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has done a conversion from a KN/KQ Laser (or Mazda 323) into a MK2 Escort? If so, I'd be grateful for any input or wisdom you can bestow.

Cheers,

Probably nobody has done this, because there is no piont to it. ****ty low power fwd engine into rwd car, would be easier and better to do something like an sr20de and gearbox or sr20det if you are brave. Easy conversation with lots of after market back up and tuning.

Have seen some forum posts where people have done a BP/BPT conversions; not the same engine as a KN/KQ Laser (this is an FP) - but would think it'd be a reasonable conversion given the FP & BP put out around the same power.

My Mrs drives a KN Laser and it couldn't pull the skin off custard. Honestly my pinto on twin carbs would show it a clean pair of heals any time, sounds better too

What about a B6/B6T/B6D engine? These seem to be another popular choice...

The reason I ask is because I have the opportunity to pick one up fairly cheap..

I used to have a KQ SR2 with a 2.0lt MAZDA FS engine and it had a ton of poke.
If it was in a RWD car that is a couple hundred KG's lighter it would be a load of fun!

That's what I'm thinking! Had a chat to the household manager and I had to make a choice between another Ford "thing" (engine, car, project, etc.) and a new place to sleep.

That means that if someone is in the ACT and looking for a B6D engine for ~$150, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the current owner.
