Both the B6 and Bp engines have been done. Have a search, they should be on here somewhere. Easiest would be to grab the components from a late MX5 as they are already in RWD format. Here is a thread with details of a BPt from a mazda familia in a mk1 corty. Should give you a good idea of what is involved...

That is with the standard dizzy. Modifcations can be made so it fits in without firewall surgery otherwise delete the dizz and run EDIS.

Have a look at Wozzah's beast here http://classic-ford.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13924&whichpage=1

He runs a very potent BP tha tlooks right at home in the engine bay.

I'm in the process of doing a mk1 B6 (MX5) conversion and thought these photos might help you.I have modified the engine and trans to fit my body, rather than modify the body to fit the eng and trans.

As you can see, I have removed the cam angle sensor from the back of the head and fitted different sensor to the front of the inlet cam (no rear clearance proplems). I have angled manifold to put air cleaner in a better place. Shortened shift, made my own rear mount to sit on original rear mount, and a few other mods. Non were major works. Hope this helps you. You are welcome to come and have a look if you are in the area (Werribee vic).

looking very good there, have you grinded a fair bit away from your gear box casing to make fit? was your car manual or auto? n wat cam sensor are you using? blockin off the old one with... or just diconnecting it? and the rear mount you speak of im guessin is gear box mount using the old one just modifyin it?

    cheers

I have removed a fair bit from the gearbox (the thick bits that hang to the side). My car was auto, so tunnel width was no problem, but I had to lift the height of the tunnel a bit to fit. The gearbox mount (rear mount) is slightly modified, but in the original position. No body modifications. The cam angle sensor i'm using I picked out of a catalogue and I think it might be Mazda van. The adjustable cam wheels I have (alloy) are drilled so I can fit metal pins into them to activate the sensor. Or if you look at my built you can see the mount I had made to belt drive the original sensor from the front at the exhaust cam.
