Optional sports steering wheel

The pictured examples you show, look like aftermarket Wheels, and not a correct option for any 69-72 Capri.
    The 3 pics I attached show the 1st 2nd 5th & 6th as Standard Capri wheel,   with the 3rd & 4th as the "V6 GT Option" .
The Alloy Spokes in Pics 3 & 4 (GT option) as compared to "plastic" spokes blending in to rim on Standard Wheel..............
    ps............dont know how I got 4 pics of each!........soz
Dont know if the 4 cyl GT's had this avail as an option..........someone will know.

    Okay great thanks!
So the spare steering wheel that came with my car appears to be the original 'optional sports' steering wheel.

Yes, your image is of the optional Sports Steering Wheel as offered on all Capri's, be they 4 or 6cyl models.

Your GT CAPRI Wheel looks to have a thicker rim than usual. Does it have a removable cover ?

Those old removable covers sometimes reveal some nice preserved original leather and stitching underneath - if it does you're very lucky

This would explain why I always thought my GT Wheel was rather thin in the Rim.............it would have been removed at some stage for failing RWC due to "fraying", as a guess.

I wonder how hard it would be to get the right leather and have a go a sewing it on ????????????

Mine only had half the leather left on it so I took the rest off,
Am hoping to stitch on new leather, I don't wouldn't be too difficult to do.

mines got the original leather at the bottom and it's missing at the top - due to 45 years of sun - I quite like it like that. A bit of pertina.....
