A couple of pics I found - 1980's by the looks - of someone's capris ( I don't know who). May bring back memories....

Looks like almost completed projects Inc new paint or young cars getting detailed?

Yep - and not in original colours - as was the case so often back then - a lot of the 70's factory colours were out of fashion

One of my capris a very long time ago, and before I bought it. Originally a 1971 V6 Auto in Vermillion Fire. I bought it in the early 90’s from Emerald in Victoria. Photo is an old Polaroid, so it has deteriorated a bit (e.g. those aren’t bullet holes in the wall).

The capri behind it was also a V6 but had been converted to an RS clone with a Leyland V8.

Photo taken on December 21, 1980 of me and my RS2000 out the front of my home. It was the first day on my full drivers licence.
My father funded the purchase of the brand new RS on the condition I was never to work on motor cars. It was the first car in the family.
I still own the RS (genuine 40,000km) however my father has long passed away.
I have lived at the same address continuously all my life and still have the RS t-shirt.
I rolled and wrote the RS off on Boxing Day 1981, however completely rebuilt it and painted it with no previous skills in the front yard under the car port at home.
The car has been stored since 1990.
Sometime soon I hope to have the RS running so I can drive it home and take another photo in exactly the same spot, by exactly the same friend who took this photo, with exactly the same camera.

I remember the clone was light blue / olympic blue. The one I bought from him was also being done as a clone, and had been painted candy apple red.

Nice story. Friends family and cars. I’m sure your father would be proud even if you did work on that car.
