The eleven factory specials.
These are documents pertaining to the specials. The chassis numbers are there and it should be easier to find in this section of the forum. The first owner of my car passed this information on to me when i purchased red pepper in 1976. This is so any that are interested can see all the info.

Now that a number of these cars have become known it would be good to have the details of each one in this thread and which will help to shed more light on the circumstances surrounding their production. Also the fact that these exist is proof that there are more out there.

Ok I own CK17ME35190P. Owned originally by a Mr A Witford of Ford Motor Company. Original Reg was LHC-462. The car had Yellow Fire paint with Black B2 Trim (black fabric inserts). IT had the Rootes Group style Rostyle wheels. The car was delivered in Delete form and I'm unable to add what factory options it came with as the dash and original harness were removed prior to me owning it. The car is undergoing an extensive restoration to re-configure it back to its "as delivered" form. I have the correct high back seats and rostyles, the only variation will be that I will have the GT paint scheme applied (I will stick on the GT badges though so the new owner could return it to Delete form if they want to. Attached is 2 photos of the car in its original state from 1982 when bought from the original owner

Red pepper. Owner......................Ron B. Options included from new. Older rostyles in 6 inch width. Driving lights. Cloth inserts. Vinyl foof. Car is fully restored now having recently installed new seat covers with the cloth inserts. Also must mention the big hispec brakes, the best mod you can do. The originals are tucked away in my collection.

Other known 'Specials' owners are: Murray J (Victoria) - 34030 Bernie V (Victoria) - 33191 Steve A (Victoria) - 32941 I'll try to get them all 'online' so that we share their stories as well. Chassis No. 34032 was written off according to my understanding and the ID plate is included hereunder. Terry

Yes that was the Wild Plum with factory sunroof car, It was painted track red in the 80's and got T boned. Its roof was cut off and was going to be transplanted onto my RS but I did not go ahead and it was sold on. Not sure what happened to any other parts of the car. There is also a Lime Glaze with a Factory Sunroof and B2 trim that was converted to V8 in the 80's or 90's and was last seen in Ballarat

Hi Ron here's my very original Delete Special CK17ME33191P in original 1972 condition except for the changes by previous owner: VIZ, new 2.5 inch straight thru Exhaust, 12 slotter 7" Chromies, Silver Paint Stripes over original "Wild Plum", Silver Paint on Bonnet & Boot, Bonnet Lock Pins, and Headlamp Switch renewal. Was very surprised to see Genuine Factory 1972 Original Ignition Coil not only still in situ, but tested-up as 100% serviceable. This and the the exemplary condition inside the engine when I dis-assembled it, tells me this engine has not done high mileage or had a stressful life. IXI481 was the original regio and previous owner kept it fully paid till 5 years ago while it sat in storage for over 15 years in Ballarat ! FoMoCo Campbellfield has sent me a Certificate of Authenticity proving all of Ford Facts above, with all Matching Numbers Pictures are how it was found in Ballarat.........externally not much has changed Drivers seat was completely collapsed and I had to drive it home from Ballarat to South Frankston on multiple Pillows!

Wish I knew someone in VicRoads who could trace the regio history: wouldnt put myself thru the "pain" as an "outsider" knowing it would be "stone walling" and dead ends and much time wasted, especially since there are "doubts". Maybe Ford didnt sell it to the public for 2 or 3 years while original Ford Executive &/or wife drove it, then re-registered when first public owner was duped into believing it was brand new ? (would require corruption with eng & chassis numbers etc of course via a number of persons; nuff said ?)

gtv6capri Odd that it had IXI reg, thats issued in 1975/76.
According to the VicRoads General Issue Number Plates table attached, IXI reg would have been used in 1977!
