Laygear dummy shaft

Hey guys just wondering if anyone would know where I could get a dummy shaft for the laygear in my gearbox for installation thanks.

    If you are installing a new shaft, cut the thicker end off the old one then use the shortened shaft for a dummy shaft.

    Yesterford for a new shaft. But as to the question i think blue has got it nailed.

    A thin grinder disc is best for slicing thru the hardened layshaft so it becomes a "tool".
    Champfer the leading end before use.
