Well at least the Escort and Capri pages seem a little quiet ATM.
Either everone''s out in the shed, or watching First Dates?

So what else do you do apart from playing cars?
For me, apart from work/kids/house etc, it's sailing.

I have also made a couple model r/c yachts:

True, we do seem to get these patches of not much activity.  I have been doing all my external reno's before our wonderfully cool summer kicks in LOL. Just got my electronic speedo and tacho and the gearbox speedo adaptors so will be getting on to my sparky to get it setup and wiring done. Changing out my windscreen bottle motor and getting gas struts for the bonnet. Need a little motivation as well as time to make this happen....Len

I agree that Facebook has taken the stage over the forums however the problem is all the information put onto it just goes into the ether, at least forum info comes up on a Google search.
Not sure how you have set up this forum however at least it still retains a lot of the images, unlike some that are completely void now due to Photobucket.

Love the boats deano, My lads and I made a whipper snipper powered boat from some plans I got of the internet several years ago, great for getting them enthused making things.

I never thought about facebook killing the forums but yes, I think you are both spot on.
Call it a generational thing, but I could only see the benefit in tracking old girlfriends down, thats about it, so I have never bothered.

Great photos Blue, you can see how engrossed the boys are, and very rewarding for them  when you see your creation first afloat. Great bang for buck too.

Love the boats guys, we have an r/c yacht club that sails in the irrigation lakes at work, gets pretty competitive, good to watch.
Small Fords are my preference but I get into the big bangers too, I'm involved with the Tickford owners club and do some drag racing and track days in the TE50. Heading out to the powercruise this weekend at Wanneroo raceway, yeah its a bit of a boofhead gathering but entry's cheaper than a speeding fine so I'm going to blow off some steam.
I've always had aquariums but moved from fish to natural planted tanks a few years back. I have a trade in Horticulture but growing plants under water, with grow lights, C02 and nutrition has been a learning curve, it's a little science experiment in my living room. After a hard day at work I can relax and stare at them for hours.
    Cheers Drew

    Hi All,

I have an addiction to something that is far more expensive and time consuming than old motor cars, would probably pay for at least three trips to Europe every year and steals every cent from my bank account. And is mentally and physically and emotionally frustrating, but like all addictions you have to keep going back for that hit.

Not me in the video, but I can only dream,.....maybe one day:

My parents met as competitive ballroom dancers, sadly they gave me 2 left feet and the pride of erin at the high school deb was as good as it gets.

Yep, I find most forums have dropped off or died all together since facebook really took of in the last 5 or so years.  Before that, it wasn't really utilized so much for forums as such.  The photobucket crap has also ruined most old threads on many non archived sites making most 'useless without pics'.

Facebook has its place, particularly when it comes to selling due to the audience but I do agree on the lack of history or search functions make it frustrating.  Forums also seem to keep more on track without the random unhelpful comments.

That said, back to the topic, raising a young family, slowly renovating and improving the house, inside and out, (including the shed), combined with work, hasn't left me with a lot of time for projects or hobbies other than those already in the shed.  To be honest I think the wife would kill me if I started anything new! So I have been busy in the last few weeks just haven't added to the threads in a long time.  Sourced and rebuilt a new 2lt for the mk2 Cortina, painted the engine bay when it was out and swapped from a celica 5 speed to rx8 6 speed. Also changed the wheels back to some period looking widened steels and got some new cobra bucket seats until I get the originals recovered. Maybe I do need to add some photos to the forum... :)

    Shaun.

After a bad accident on a motorbike and pulling through my tenants moved out of my investment property with a final email ( I think you may have a termite problem). Well bugger me the hippies then moved onto a commune never put cleaner in a toilet not to kill fish and watched as the house got eaten by termites to a point you couldn’t across floorboards on the second story. Our regular pest guy later saying they stuff in the way so he couldn’t check. So a year on and suffering for funds it’s 50% fixed. No money for the Capris or time to tinker but life is like that. It’s now coming up a treat house wise and this is my fibre optic brick wall a one off cause I could.

Like the track bike, JP, brings back memories, my track and road bikes were only Reynolds 531 tubing, which was pretty schmick in it's day.  Only ride now to keep up a bit of fitness, finally had to get a new set of shoes and clipless pedals after 10 years hard use, the whole bottom plate had nearly come off on one of them.  Carbon fibre jobbies can certainly guzzle the $'s.  Len

The bike does look cool JP, looks fast even standing still. That's sure to eat up more $$$ than a boat does.

Hey guys, good to see a bit of action on here. I have spent countless hours on CFF over the years and yes, the special interest pages on facebook have huge following now. I had joined many fb pages to the point where the news feed was just car related and nothing from my friends or family so had to delete a lot of pages. It's information overload, and I should really spend a lot less time on it.
My MK2 project is almost finished. Gets wired next weekend and tuned soon after. Will be close to 300whp.
Quite a lot of repairs & maintenance done with our house. New front & rear decks, fresh exterior paint.
When I feel like burning off some energy I hop on my wheelie machine- a 29" Big Ripper.  I can wheelie for about 1km on this but still learning to coast down hills standing on back pegs , great fun :D

nice one, a BMX for grown ups, i'm envious!
I've still got 3 bmx's in storage (no garage at the moment, just about to start a new one), including a set of Skyway knock offs. The number of dudes who wanted to buy it the last time I went to the local swap meet. The prices of old school gear is going nuts, nearly as good an investment as a mk1.
We had a school campus we had to change across to midday, back in high school. A group of us used to mono the whole way, including up and down a hill.
Aahh the old days of layback seat poles, double goosenecks and tuffs.
Youngsters don't know what they missed out on... (queue Kylie and Nicole at the local track)

Another one for the bike fans, this is my Indi 500 Oddball Dragster. I built a few of these as a cheap hobby when I first bought the house. Matches the TD Cortina too
