New Capri Door Trims, orders being taken
Hi all Im about to place an order with UK supplier of new door trims, in the correct pattern with chrome insert. Is anyone after a set?, estimated delivery time is 4 weeks. Cost will be $950 for all 4 pieces Black, White, Red, is what Im ordering. Cost is a bit higher than last time as I will get hit up with Customs Excise and GST on arrival and the pound is 2 cents lower. I got a few sets at the start of the year and there have been no complaints, they looked very good. Let me know if you want a set, give me a deposit and ill get yours in the box. Cheers JR

The UK colours are most likely different to Australian delivered Saddle / Tan. If you aren't bothered by colour variation then no issue, but, if you want exact then I cannot guarantee they are the same

I know this is for the Capris but any chance of your supplier making Mk2 RS2000 trims?

i dont want to sound like a spoil sport and i guess your ordering them for others, and i guess the forum is to help each other out getting our cars restored ... but 950 is bit high cosidering i got mine from alderidge in the uk for 700 delivered to my door ... 250 saving is a bit of good coin to purchase other stuff needed if your trying to build car on a budjet as i said tho dont want to sound nasty or spoil sport, as this forum and its members has helped me a lot when i was restoring my capri and now restoring a escort. returning the favor to other people building there cars with info that we came across or have encounted is what the forum is about ..

$700 delivered, wow thats cheaper than each set costs me landed. killer is once an order is over $1000 Aust, you get hit with a $165 Handling fee, plus 5% excise on both shipping and unit costs, then an additional 10% GST on the new grand total. Factor in currency fluctuation and oversize shipping costs and there is not a lot of room for making a profit to retire on. Just going by there last quote, a set of 4 cards is 362UK plus 130UK postage per set, at the Westpac rate of 56c (no bank gives you the actual daily rate) is $863 Aussie, so not sure how they delivered you a set at $700. I will seek clarification as that is a very big difference. Just did the complete sum, if I order 5 sets the actual total landed price at the depot, is $4400 AUD - $880 per set-not allowing for currency difference and collection costs and thats at 240uk pounds for freight for 5. How long ago did you get yours Rod?

yeah thats fair enough when your getting few sets adding in the taxes ... got mine a while back i guess when the exchange rate was at a good price ... anyway at that price still beats the aussie mobs by heaps ... think from memory i was quoted 1500 and 8 months wait from prostich sydney gota admit tho the ik door trims are excellent quality

I was very happy with the quality, and their turnaround, it was like 8 days or something crazy. Prostitch are advertising on Ebay at $1299 not sure what the wait is. I remember about 2001 Polyweld were selling capri door trims at $550 the set of 4. I placed an order last night for one set of 4 to be posted out directly. This will mean no customs charges and hold ups. I will be curious to see the price difference once landed.
