INFORMATION ON A DIZZY FOR ESSEX V6 3 LITRE 1972 CAPRI GT

Hi Guys
 
can anyone please tell me if ANY other dizzy will fit the Essex V6 , or is the factory Ford/Autolite the only choice ?
 
Also, has anyone got a spare dizzy for sale please ?

    Thanks John..................all I could find was new Elec Ign Bosch type............do you know if new points-type dizzies are available in any brand ? .......I want to keep it as factory standard as possible.............even a used assy to keep car on road and give me time to labour over the current one which has a seized advance plate/shaft

    i was the same thought keep it points but  after few runs i cracked  the ****s with the points  had to keep adjusting them after a run .. so i went electronic ignition kit  ..fitted it in tonight all seems good so far ill take it for a run and see how the electronic goes

    As a mechanic, I've never experienced having to re-adjust points every time I went for a run..........every 10,000 to 20,000 kms is the "norm".........you have unaddressed issues if youre experiencing points "misbehaving".
     
    How many decades did we race Capris and XY V8's and every other brand of car with points being the ONLY option?
    ..............around 75 years roughly !
    How many cars failed during a race due a fault in the Points System ? (Kettering) .....none that I recall !
     
    Which is easier/quickest to get back on the road upon a "failure"?  Points of course ! (confirmed by RACV & VACC)

    Distributor options:  1.  The Ford Autolite V6 or a modified V4 (no other oem that I am aware)            
                                  2.  Scorcher made a single/twin point for the V6
                                  3.  Mallory V8 chev modified to an essex V6 single/twin point.

    There is a Bosch version, mostly used on the South African 3 litres, but they do pop up in the UK- No Australiabn delivered V6's had anything other than Autolite
