Sierra 5sp

Anyone have idea what T9 gearboxes are going for? Nothing wrong with mine except wanting to convert back to auto.
Not the greatest box behind a 1.3l.
Got this box a while ago and cannot find any on ebay/gumtree
So dont really know value.

I'd be interested in the box when you work out what it is worth to you. Price varies so much on condition etc.

Have seen some silly prices, one on Gumtree at the moment for$1500. One in my car fitted by my brother cost $900 some years ago. Not many boxes around now because the conversion has been a common one for a while. What does it owe you? If its in good working order maybe match the price for an auto conversion so you don't lose money. Len

1500 is crazy. I paid about 450 around 10 years ago. Conversion likely to cost around that but not gonna sell for 450.

Yes, prices have definitely doubled in the last 10-15 yrs. I remember if you paid $500 the seller got a good deal, however those days are looooong gone.

When my current 5 speed expires, and it will, I'll be going the mazda 6speed conversion, as it is now about the same price or even cheaper than sourcing a sierra 5 speed.

so, there you go DANMK1, ask  $1000 on the open market and you should be prepared to get a sale, unless you want to do a good  deal for a forum member . Len

I bought one about 3 yrs ago for $500, deal was I had to take the MK1 4door shell it was fitted to. So probably $600 once I add trailer hire, time & fuel but made it all back parting out the shell.
Pete Baguley from Performance Thumpers & Escorts sold one for $750 about 12 months ago. Nice bloke.
I think $900 is about current market value
