Mk1 Escort door locks

Hi,
 
A door lock on my MkII van (which use what are essentially Mk1 Escort doors) pops out when I withdraw the key. Anybody have any tips on fixing it so it stays put?

    If you are referring to the entire lock assembly is loose inside the hole of the door skin:
     
    Remove door trim.
    At the bottom of the door cavity you will find a flat spring steel clip.
    The clip slides into the grooves on both sides of the lock assembly and holds the assembly tight against the door skin.

    Yep - it was there, so an easy fix.
     
    It's been a good weekend for getting more de-boganising work done on the old van. The craptastic stereo is gone from where the heater controls were supposed to be, and the sliders returned to their rightful place thanks to a little welding by the ever-helpful Drew. A functioning heater complete with modern fan speed control is installed so there won't be a third winter of foggy windscreens and chattering teeth!

    Flighter, aren't you in Perth?
    We had 2 degrees yesterday morning, and it was 7 degrees in the shed.
    Glad you got to de boganising.
    Over the weekend, I now have a working horn(!), stop lights, reversing lights and indicators that will flash (thanks SFE)
    Handbrake light next../.

    Ahhh, those pesky reversing lights - still can't seem to get them to work, and they are the only remaining gremlin in the electrical works. Perth winters are pretty mild, but two degrees isn't unheard of. The other benefit of the heater is a little less engine noise in the cabin.

    I agree re engine noise.....
    Recent experience was I hadn't driven my panel van for several weeks.
    Got back in it and drove it - couldn't believe how noisy it is in the cabin and bumpy and difficult is is to drive after driving a more modern car.
    Maybe I am just getting old.
