V6 Capri Burnt Clutch Cable

Have a Mk1 V6 Capri where the clutch cable has burnt in the past on the exhaust manifold? There is a bracket someone made to lift the cable off the exhaust but this has finally rusted away.

What do other owners do to get around this problem?

I have found a long ZIP TIE around my new Clutch Cable anchored back to the RH Brake Line so that the CC is still sitting loose half way tween the Exhaust and Steering Column Linkage. There's zero tension to the brake line so no problem!
May look more professional clipped to chassis rail, but that means 2 deviations from "straight line" plus it still comes close to exhaust heat. I'd rather have it sitting where it's most practical.
