Mk1 Strut tops - advice needed

Hi guys,

I run a '75 Mk1 1300, which has been lowered up front, and runs a K-mac sway bar.

I'm about to replace the strut inserts with Gaz adjustable shocks to go with the Gaz rears i already run in the car. At the same time, I had planned to add adjustable strut tops. I had been looking at the eccentric tops, however would I right in saying that they can not be run with standard suspension setup, i.e. without coil-overs?

Im a bit confused as to whether its possible to install the eccentric tops with standard suspension or not.
any advice would be great.

Cheers
Aaron

it is possible to do so, you just have to make sure of the clearance of the spring to the strut tower supports. This should not be a problem if you do not plan on maxing out the camber to full negative.

I agree as above. You just won't have range of camber adjustment due to the larger spring diameter. They may also raise the ride height due to the position of the spherical bush in relation to the strut mounting.

    Ok cool, thanks guys.

Next question, how do mount up to standard suspension? Do i retain the top plate on top of the coil spring, or do i abandon that?
I feel like there should be some sort of rubber insulator between the steel top spring cap and the alloy strut top...
    Cheers for the help.
