Unique Cars

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I presume everyone is aware of the Feb edition of Unique cars ? I just noticed it in a local newsagent. Didn't get a chance to have a good read,  it was doing a comparison with the fastback Torana. I also noticed they had some market values of the cars - will be an interesting read when I get round to buying it.

cheers Paul

Its a good looking Capri, just not a genuine GT, its a 4 cylinder Deluxe model with V6 stripes.

Still, I do like the red with white interior which was one of my favourite combinations...

The couple of times I've been featured in UC and asked about 'proof reading' the article before printing I am always told the deadline is too soon to enable this. And sure enough things are printed that I'm positive I didn't say at the time!

man I wish Classic Ford would do a proof read, or pay a grade 3 kid to do one.

If you want the direct '"Express Freight"", hot off the press version, then you fork out $15 basically.
Then when it looks like it's whacked together by a tripping overseas backpacker who's just pulled an all nighter I sometimes wonder why I bother..

I think the last time I purchased a UC mag, the Trading Post was still a going concern.

wrong facts I can probably understand I'm not really expecting groundbreaking journalism from a UK car mag.
I do laugh through when captions don't match the image at all.

The best part though is when you can glimpse into the future every month, September 2017 issue out now.
First world problems I know, but an example of 'hot of the press' taken to the extreme.

Well, I've just finished my reply to Unique Cars which I'll send off to them tomorrow. I expect that they will not publish it or reply to my e-mails, as has happened twice before concerning similar Capri articles that they have published!

Perhaps they could do a feature article of the 50th Event? There'd be plenty of good examples for them to profile.

Here's the reply that I received from Unique Cars. Pretty disappointing really and the article credits 3 writers not one, I'm at a loss!

That reply looks like the classic "Thanks for your letter. While what you say is interesting, we're not going to change the way we do things so please don't write back with any more criticism."

A good reason not to bother buying the magazine again, not that I have for ages anyway.
